Ole J. Mjøs is Associate Professor at the Department of Information Science and Media Studies, University of Bergen, Norway. He was a Visiting Scholar at the Center for Global Communication Studies, Annenberg School for Communication, University of Pennsylvania, USA, and a visiting researcher at the Centre for Mobilities Research, Lancaster University, UK. He is on the faculty of the European Media and Communication Doctoral Summer School (ECREA).
Ole’s work has appeared in the journals Media, Culture and Society, First Monday and the International Communication Gazette, and he has presented his work at the ICA, ECREA, IAMCR, Nordmedia conferences.
His previous practical experience in the media and creative sector includes work in television documentary production, and as co-creator of a number records within the wide genre of electronic music. He djs occationally.
Ole received his PhD in Media and Communications from University of Westminster, UK, in 2007, and an MA in Transnational Communications and the Global Media, Goldsmiths College, University of London, in 2003.
